Find Your People

Leather & kink at The Woods.

A safe, ethical, sex-positive space to network, learn, and explore — from leather 101 classes to play parties. Prominent all season, and celebrated across three themed weekends.

The Leather Community

Explore at your own pace.

The leather community is prominent at The Woods throughout the camping season — and especially celebrated during our three leather-themed weekends.

Whether you're brand new to the scene or have lived the lifestyle for years, you'll find a welcoming community built on consent, respect, and personal empowerment.

Our Mission

Safe, ethical, and yours to explore.

The leather community plans, organizes, and runs activities and social events across the resort with three commitments at its core.

Safety First

A safe environment

Fostering a safe, ethical space where Woods campers can network with, be exposed to, and engage in activities within the leather lifestyle.

Discovery

Learn & explore

Creating an inclusive environment where guests can explore and learn more about their sexuality, kinks, and fetishes.

Respect

Be yourself

Promoting an accepting, respectful, positive environment that enhances each camper's individuality at The Woods.

Title Weekend

What to Expect

Something for every comfort level.

Leather weekends offer a variety of events for newcomers and seasoned community members alike: regional vendors displaying and selling gear, leather 101 classes and kink demonstrations, BBQ and cigar socials, motorcycle runs, and a kink party on Friday and Saturday nights.

You'll see men and women in leather and fetish gear — harnesses, chaps, jockstraps, kilts, and full leather formal attire. Guests are highly encouraged (but never required) to wear leather and/or fetish gear to designated events. Please always follow the rules posted at the kink party and office to keep things inclusive, safe, and respectful for everyone.

The Woods Leather Title. Each year during Leather 3 weekend, a competition determines the new Mr./Ms. Woods Leather and Woods Leather Pet. Winners then represent The Woods Camping Resort throughout their title year.

Charity in action. The 2026 titleholders — Mr. Woods Leather Sir Shots Stone, Woods Pet Kaos the Pup, and Miss Woods Leather Bry Sleigher James — selected the Eastern PA Trans Equity Project as their charity for the title year.

Leather Workshops

Learn from people who live it.

Our organizers arrange workshops on a range of topics throughout leather weekends. Offerings may include:

History

Introduction to Leather

An overview of the history and significance of leather culture in the gay community — its origins, symbolism, and evolution over time.

Gear

Leather Gear 101

The different types of gear — harnesses, chaps, vests, and boots — the materials used, how to care for them, and how to make them your own.

Dynamics

BDSM & Leather

Where leather culture and BDSM intersect: power dynamics, consent, negotiation, and safe practices within the community.

Hands-On

Leather Play Techniques

Demonstrations and instruction on flogging, spanking, and sensory play — impact toys, safety, and creating a consensual, enjoyable experience.

Advocacy

Community & Activism

The leather community's role in activism and social change, from Stonewall onward, and its history as a platform for visibility within the LGBTQ+ community.

Culture

The Leather Culture

Rooted in the gay motorcycle clubs of the 1950s and '60s, leather culture has grown into a global subculture with its own values, rituals, and aesthetics — centered on consent, respect, and empowerment.

Play Space Rules

Consent is the whole game.

Our kink party is a sex-positive event with clear rules so everyone stays safe, respected, and included. The house safe word is RED.

All activities require the consent of all parties — the house safe word is RED.
Be respectful of other people's kinks.
Never interrupt or join any play without the permission of everyone involved.
The Safety Monitor's word is final — they can stop any play if necessary.
Be aware of your surroundings; keep conversation quiet near those playing.
For safety, open-toed shoes are not allowed.
Leather and fetish gear is strongly encouraged but never mandatory.
Don't leave toys or belongings on equipment you're not using.
Clean up your area and wipe down equipment after use.
Pay-for-play is not permitted; illegal drugs are not permitted.
Consume alcohol responsibly, and be cautious mixing prescriptions or alcohol with poppers.
Watersports stay in the designated play space — and watch out for others in need of help.

The Woods Leather Committee

Run by the community.

The leather culture at The Woods is vast and the events are numerous. A dedicated committee organizes and produces them throughout the season, culminating in the title contests during Leather 3 weekend.
