Getting Around

Leisure transportation at The Woods.

Golf carts, bikes, and scooters are a fun, convenient way to roll around 161 acres. Both Perm campers and transient guests are welcome to use them — with a few important safety rules.

Register First

Golf cart registration.

If you want to use your golf cart at The Woods, it must be registered and insured, and display a Woods Campground permit sticker.

Pick the appropriate registration form below, fill it out, and send it via our submission form (a scan or clear photo works) — or drop it off at Guest Services. You'll also need to provide proof of insurance showing the coverage period, which can be sent the same way.

Registration Fees

Seasonal registration Per cart$35
One-time visit Per cart · max 5 days$10

Drive Smart

Golf cart safety rules.

Safety is of utmost importance when operating your cart — and obeying camp road speed limits is critical.

  • Since many carts have no speedometer, download a GPS-enabled speed indicator app to monitor your speed.
  • All cart operators without an OEM speedometer must take part in low-speed acquisition training each season — scheduled in May. To arrange training after that, email Woody.
  • Excessive speeding will result in fines and/or loss of golf cart privileges.
  • Passengers are limited to the number of properly installed seats.
  • Front and rear lights are required for night use.
  • Do not drive while intoxicated, and keep your cart secure.
  • You are fully responsible for the actions of every driver of your cart — authorized or not.

Need to schedule low-speed training outside of May? Email Woody.

On Two Wheels

Bicycles, scooters, Segways & PTs.

If you're riding a bike or scooter — electric or not — safety still comes first, and the speed limits especially matter around the clubhouse and campsites (max 5 mph). That slow speed can be hard to hold, so think twice before bringing your PT into those areas.

  • Be respectful: slow down around pedestrians, use bells, and yield to hikers and other users.
  • Follow road rules: treat e-bikes and scooters like regular bicycles — ride with traffic, obey signs, and stay off sidewalks.
  • Trail use: slower, pedal-assist (Class 1 & 2) e-bikes are recommended on hiking trails, though some trails are for pedestrians only. Learn the trail system before riding.
  • No passengers unless the ride is OEM-designed to allow them.
  • Lights: front and rear lights are required for night use.
  • Excessive speeding will result in loss of bicycle or scooter privileges.
  • Do not ride while intoxicated, and keep your ride secure. You're fully responsible for the actions of every driver of your bike or scooter — authorized or not.

Before You Roll

Forms & insurance.

Pick the right permit form, then submit it with your proof of insurance. You can register up to four carts at once.

The registration form collects your name, email, camping season, camping classification (Perm, Full Season Weekend Reservation, or Transient Guest), site number, and per-cart details (model year, brand, color, and whether the cart has a speedometer). Insurance details include your company, effective and expiration dates, and uploads for your proof of insurance and signed registration form.
