Getting Settled
Parking at The Woods.
Where to leave the car, how to display your pass, and the rules for overflow camping — so everyone has room and the fields stay safe.
Where to Park
Designated parking areas.
Please park only in our designated areas — look for painted lines that mark the spaces.
- The parking corral across from Guest Services.
- Spaces along the camp road surrounding three sides of Overflow Field A.
- Spaces along the camp road by Overflow Areas C and D.
- The grass lots under the high-tower power lines.
- The angled spaces along Diversity Way (intended for Tent Grove occupants).
- The parking lot east of the Tent Grove (intended for Tent Grove occupants).
Perms only: Overflow Parking Lot A near the maintenance barn is reserved for Perm campers. If you're not a Perm site owner, please use another parking area.
Display your pass. All vehicles must have a parking pass hung from the rearview mirror and clearly displayed outward for our security team.
A Faster Way to Find a Spot
See every parking area in The Woods app.
Open the Maps tile, choose the Aerial Map, and search "Parking Lots" — every lot lights up so you can plan before you arrive.
Camping in Overflow
Parking at your overflow site.
Can I park my vehicle at my overflow site?
We ask that vehicles not be parked near your overflow site so there's more room for other overflow campers. If you do need your vehicle at your campsite, you won't be able to move it until check-out (noon on the final day).
It's unsafe to drive through the fields — there are people and nearly-invisible tent ropes that a vehicle can strike, and night driving is worse with restricted views and blinding headlights. All vehicles should avoid wet ground.
If you need your vehicle close by due to medical necessity, you should have a handicap plate or mirror badge.
What if my vehicle is my camping equipment?
Certain sections of overflow are easily accessible for drivable camping units — Class A, B, or C RVs, Teslas outfitted with camping gear in "Camping Mode," or vehicles with tents are all great options. As with any overflow vehicle, you won't be able to remove it until check-out (noon on the final day), so consider choosing a site at the edge of an overflow area.
We don't permit overnight camping in a vehicle that isn't outfitted with sleeping accommodations. A van or pickup with a cab and an inflated air mattress is fine — but you should arrive with genuine camping comforts, not just a porch-swing cushion. You're here to camp, not simply sleep after a day in the sun.
